The LP Principium 2.1 by Remörk, released by Ultra Eczema, is an experimental sound art project by Kris Delacourt. Known for his unconventional use of synthesizers and homemade instruments, Delacourt based this work on a sound installation he developed using multiple vinyl records, turntables, and custom electronics at the artist space Stadslimiet in Antwerp.
The album revisits the concept of Principium, which originated from an art piece by Vaast Colson that transformed dot sticker sheets (typically used to denote sold artworks) into graphic scores. Inspired by these, Delacourt created musical sequences using white magnets placed on an 8x12 sequencer grid, simulating the arrangement of dots on Colson's artwork.
The LP features four unprocessed recordings from the original installation, providing a unique auditory experience that mimics the setup’s dynamic, randomized sound patterns.
Limited to 200 copies, this release is accompanied by liner notes from Delacourt, explaining the project's evolution and concepts in detail
