Alba House Communications / EU / RE 2020, LP, Unofficial Release
Devotional weirdness by 2 nuns, recorded in Sydney Australia in 1976 by Aussie sister Irene O'Connor and South Asian Sister Marimil Lobrega. Echo chamber haunting eeriness with drum machines and pre-set synths alongside Sister Irene's voice that sounds like a mix of Lata Mangeshkar and Lata Ramasar. Phillips Australia pressing with some surface noise at beginning of "Fire (Luke 12:49)" rest plays great with clean label and sleeve. "Emmanuel" is a prayer song set that sounds like its come out of a psychedelic Franco/Hammer horror film. The whole record is a total freak show and is coveted by record collectors, djs and has reached cult status because of its rarity. An IC fave!
