Cosey Fanni Tutti’s solo work, though rare, is deeply personal and innovative. After her tumultuous early years in Hull’s art scene and collaborations with Genesis P-Orridge in COUM and Throbbing Gristle, she found stability and creativity with Chris Carter. Despite her collaborative focus, her solo albums stand out.
Her 1983 debut, Time To Tell, critiqued capitalism through ambient, experimental soundscapes. In 2019, after 36 years, she released TUTTI, a meditative blend of drone, ambient, and industrial elements. Reflecting her life’s work, it eschews repetition, showcasing her technical prowess and ability to merge emotional depth with forward-thinking electronic composition.
